Can wood varnish taste good??

Since Hudson's arrival, I have become a bit "granola-y". Ryan constantly refers to my attempts to become "green" as me "turning into a hippie". I've just been a bit more concerned about chemicals in the house, in our food, etc. Well, I'm pretty sure that wood varnish can't be on the list of green items that are safe for children to ingest. Unfortunately, Hudson really enjoys chewing on this crib. So much so, that I noticed the teeth marks on the crib today....
